"What's Gotten Into Us?" A lecture and conversation with author McKay Jenkins
Tuesday, November 18, 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Anne Cutter Coburn Reception Room
We hear more and more about the potential impacts on our own bodies and the bodies of our children of everything from plastics and pesticides to flame retardants and fragrances. What are we exposed to without even realizing it, and what can we do in our own homes and lives to reduce this exposure? Join us for a talk by McKay Jenkins, author of What's Gotten into Us?: Staying Healthy in a Toxic World (2011) and co-author of Poison Spring: The Secret History of Pollution and the EPA (2014).
After a health scare of his own, Jenkins set out to understand the health consequences of chemicals that are found in products we use every day and to find ways to decontaminate his daily life. Jenkins will share his story and the findings from his research, as well as tips for ways to get toxins out of your home. Following Jenkins' talk, we invite you to stay for a reception and discussion.
