Stephanie Poland, a member of the Hathaway Brown class of 2013, has committed to play NCAA Division I college basketball at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, next fall.
Poland, of Valley View, is a nationally-ranked player who today signed a letter of intent to become a student-athlete at Colgate University. She is a member of the Blazers' 4-time defending state championship basketball team. A 6'4" post player, she will play in the Patriot League for the Raiders.
She was joined at this morning's ceremony by her family, friends, coaches, and classmates. Head of School Bill Christ and Associate Athletic Director Paul Barlow congratulated her for being an excellent role model for her peers.
Poland was recognized for the countless hours she has spent coaching and mentoring student-athletes in the Middle and Upper schools during her high school years.
