May 16: HB Vocal Ensembles to Perform at Church of the Western Reserve

The Hathaway Brown School choirs will perform a free concert at Church of the Western Reserve on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The internationally touring HB Singers perform classical masterworks and pieces from various world traditions. The concert will also include performances by the HB Bravuras, an elite small and featured soloists, who have performed at Cleveland’s award-winning jazz venue Nighttown.

HB's music students, bring an : senior Joey Gwinell is a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus, senior Dhiksha Balahji has performed original songs in a masterclass with Jim Brickman, sophomore Kacey Gill was a finalist in the National Singing Star Cleveland Competition, and junior Tessa Murthy was the Grand Prize winner in the Great Lakes Theater 2013 Shakespeare Songwriting Contest.

Hathaway Brown School choirs are directed by Laura Webster. Initiating a program for solo voice students in 2012, Mrs. Webster has brought renewed energy and direction to the vocal performing arts at HB, with the help of staff accompanist Matt Skitzki.

Located in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Hathaway Brown School provides an inclusive environment that challenges girls in grades K through 12 and boys and girls in the Early Childhood Program. Founded in 1876, Hathaway Brown is committed to a fusion of academic and experiential learning.
