Hathaway Brown Associate Athletic Director Paul Barlow has been appointed interim head coach of the Blazer Varsity Field Hockey team. Barlow is one of the most accomplished and respected coaches in Ohio high school girls’ athletics. He has coached three different varsity sports at HB over the past 14 years: softball, basketball, and golf. For the past six straight years, his basketball teams have played in the state championship game, and for the last four years, have gone on to win the state title. He took the HB golf team to a State Championship as well in 2010, and he was named OHSAA Division II basketball coach of the year in 2008 and 2012.
Head of School Bill Christ is enthusiastic about Barlow's appointment. "We have a field hockey squad with great senior leadership, many exceptional and dedicated players, and a strong track record in both the regular season and the OHSAA tournament. I am very excited about the team’s prospects, and we will do everything possible to help the girls – who have contributed so much to our program – attain a highly successful and rewarding season," he said.
