On Friday, April 17, two Hathaway Brown juniors will test their chemistry mettle in the National Chemistry Olympiad. Kavya Ravichandran ’16 and Kelsey Rich ’16 both qualified for the national exam after scoring in the top eleven in the Cleveland-area exam on March 14. Designed to stimulate interest and achievement in chemistry among high school students, the National Chemistry Olympiad Examination and Practical is a rigorous three-part exam with multiple choice questions, problem solving, and laboratory work.
Following the National Exam and Practical, 20 students will be selected to attend a two-week study camp, June 2-17, 2015, at the U.S. Air Force Academy to compete for a spot on the U.S. national team.
Congratulations and good luck to Kavya and Kelsey!
