We're proud to announce that Hathaway Brown’s New Strategic Plan, Lighting the Way: Defining Excellence in Girls’ Education, has been approved by the school’s Board of Trustees. The plan was crafted over the course of two years through the thoughtfulness, creativity, and hard work of 150 members of the HB community, including faculty, staff, administrators, parents, trustees, and alumnae.
The lamp of learning has been burning luminously at Hathaway Brown since 1876. In three different centuries, its flame has been fueled by the insights and idealism of our extraordinary students and their gifted, impassioned faculty. Today, Hathaway Brown has won national regard as the defining voice of 21st century girls' education, even as it sets the standard for educational excellence and innovation among schools in Northeast Ohio. HB's mission of educating not for school, but for life continues to be an inspiring call for action, particularly at a time when the talents and leadership of women matter more than ever.
Lighting the Way: Defining Excellence in Girls' Education was officially approved on October 3, 2014. The document is a blueprint for maintaining excellence and continuing to reach for even more goals outlined in our school mission. It will fully be implemented beginning on January 1, 2015.
