Four HB students presented their findings at the 12th International Symposium on Materials in the Space Environment (ISMSE-12) held September 24-28 in The Netherlands. These students, Gianna Mitchell '13Grace Yi '13, Athena Haloua '14, and Emily Imka '15, were the only high schoolers in attendance at this high-level international meeting of seasoned professionals who have studied for up to four decades the effects of the space environment on man-made materials we put in space.

All four students presented a poster, which will also be published as a paper in the proceedings, and the two seniors were also co-authors on the talk and paper by NASA's Kim de Groh.

The PEACE team's poster earned 2nd place for a new award recognizing young professionals in the under-30 age group.   Meant to encourage young professionals and doctoral students, this award was a big achievement for this high school group.

Congratulations to these young scientists!
