Overview

The goal of the iCan iPad workshop series at Hathaway Brown School is to bring together classroom educators, educational technology leaders, and school leaders and principals for an exciting series focused on connecting curiosity and creativity in the ever evolving world of 1:1 iPad educational technology.

This workshop series will showcase authentic use of iPad technology in the classroom. Participate in presentations and hands-on training from teachers who are integrating the use of iPads into their curriculum.

Program Overview

Educational "Curiosity" Session (45 minutes)
An educational session will be presented in one of the following options:

Project presentation – Learn about a project initiated using 1:1 programming. Presentations will detail the process, including how decisions were made, what worked and what did not work. Examples of the project will be included.

Facilitated discussion – Join facilitated discussion centered on a specific app, theme, or subject in terms of 1:1 programming. This session will be participant-driven, and the facilitator will work to meet the needs of participants. The session may focus on philosophy or theory of 1:1 programming.

Hands-On "Creativity" Workshop (90 minutes)
This is a hands-on workshop designed around a specific app or theme that is facilitated by the presenter. Participants will be given the opportunity to interact with their device as part of the workshop and will leave the session with a finished product or lesson to use with their students. We may request that you install specific apps in advance of the workshop.
