Hathaway Brown School is happy to announce that Brooke Edwards has been named Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach. Edwards is completing her first year as a Physical Education teacher at HB, and she was the Head Junior Varsity Field Hockey Coach this past season where she led the team to an overall record of 11-3-2.
When asked about the opportunity, Edwards said, "I am extremely excited to work with the entire HB Field Hockey program, and my goal is to continue the rich tradition that has been set over the years."
Before arriving at HB, Edwards was the graduate assistant at Ohio University under head coach Neil Macmillan for one year. During her time coaching she worked with the coaching staff in all daily practice and game time activities.
She was a four year starter for the Bobcats and helped lead the Bobcats to the NCAA Tournament in 2011. She was a captain and a two-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division One Academic Squad selection. Edwards scored the game-winning overtime goal for the Bobcats in the 2011 MAC Championship. In her four years at Ohio University, they recorded 2 MAC Championships.
A veteran of 88 games and a four year starter, she finished her career with 19 goals and 15 assists. She finished among the top-10 in the MAC in 2011 in both goals and points and also recorded three multi-goal games for the Bobcats during her senior season.
