On Thursday, January 23, HB Alum Julie Schenkelberg '92 visited a number of the Upper School art students to share her creative process, where her inspirations come from, and her experiences in the New York art scene.
"Julie's visit was extremely valuable for our young artists," said Visual Arts department chair Jamie Morse, Julie's former teacher. "It's also incredibly to see such expressive, hard-hitting art come from a typically quiet person like Julie."
Since her graduation from Hathaway Brown, Julie has made a name for herself in New York City, and nationally, with her installation sculptures. Her most recent work can be seen the Sculpture Center in Cleveland, through March 6.
